Three weeks and it’s FINALLY over.
I just can’t believe that I’m actually viewing the end of this detour that I took. Made a lot of huge decisions, sacrifices, losses and risk-just to complete this course.
First two weeks:
DAMAS
Paco, Manila
It was an opportunity for me to be with kids who needs a lot of care and attention. The settlement house has a dark past but that didn’t stop them in continuing the goal of their group-to feed and to nourish.
Sad to say though that I’ve seen a lot of flaws that really dismayed me a lot. However, looking back with the experiences that I had with the in-house kids and the ones who are attending nursery and day care classes was a self-fulfilling one.
Two weeks of being stressed out cleaning the rooms, mopping the floor, feeding the kids, singing, bonding with the kids and changing diapers-having this kind of opportunity is one of the experiences that I’ll cherish in my heart forever.
Btw, we celebrated Donna’s birthday while on duty. Haha.
