It takes TWO to tango..
…that’s how the saying goes, but would it be applicable for people who
-got mugged on the street?
-got murdered?
-died on the recent hostage taking in Manila?
How about being sexually abused?
Do we have to condemn those victims (who were stupid) that permitted their abusers to touch them? You can say that it could have been prevented if they had done their part to stop it. They should have screamed, tell them verbally to stop whatever that they’re doing, etc.
You can brag things that you ‘can’ do when you’re in that situation.
But ONCE you are in that situation, unfathomable fear will envelope your body, making you feel weak and very fragile-the one that will make you forget how to be brave and dissuade your predator.
Only a victim can attest to that.
