I’m not that geek or an idiot when it comes in dealing hardware and software diagnosis in the computer. Well, I’m now enjoying dealing issues when an error would appear and the only solution is to modify some system files within the registry.
Actually, I received a good feedback from my customer when I managed to solved his multiple issues i.e (PDF error code, unable to complete windows update-error message occured and his health check in one of the softwares that is included with our product) after spending two long hours on the phone the other day.
It was my first time to encounter the Error 1606 couldn’t access network location %APPDATA%. This error occurs every time his Windows updates fails. Waaahhhh! One word: Nosebleed!!
Well, thanks to ever trusty google for giving all the information I need. The forums and those handy information that are available on the net were the reasons why I came up with a trusty solution. It’s a bit risky, knowing that you haven’t tried or tested it yet.
All I have is guts-that kind of belief to solve things which are a bit vague for me. As long I have my tools, helpful ASG’s and of course google, I can manage to solve any weird issues that I’ll keep on encountering as time goes by.
Well, let me share what I did. Just go to the registry edit page, find the User Shell Folders and modify the value of AppData then viola! Issue solved!
Please refer to this link. I think this would help if ever you encountered such error I mentioned early on.
“It’s been for months now since I’m having this kind of issue. It did really frustrate me to see that I’m unable to view my PDF files, complete the windows update using my computer. I’m really thankful that you solved my problem Nicey.”
Wow. It felt really good when I heard this from him.
